The Impact Wrap is a new solution that can turn any heavy bag into a piece of smart fitness technology and deliver a more effective workout experience for groups and individual users.
The Impact Wrap, a new smart fitness solution developed for boxing and martial arts enthusiasts, wraps around any ordinary heavy bag and turns it into a smart punching bag, tracking performance metrics and delivering a fully quantified fitness experience that allows users to track their progress and even compete with friends. The fitness tracker uses accelerometers and a proprietary algorithm to capture and present key workout data. It can be used with existing boxing equipment at the gym or at home, and users can hit just about anywhere on the bag to get consistent data.
The Impact Wrap tracks all strikes, Impact Force™, Impact Count™ and calories, and sends the data to a smartphone app, providing users with insight into how hard and how often they are hitting, which strikes were their hardest, and how much they have improved over time. Users can check their stats on their smartphones or on the display attached to the Impact Wrap.
The technology allows users to create customised rounds and workouts and define the duration of each round and the rest periods between them. Trainers, on the other hand, can integrate the fitness tracker into existing High Intensity Training (HIT) programs to track improvements in technique and fitness. The Impact Wrap is very effective in group training as it gamifies workouts, allowing users to benchmark against a group or compete with friends anywhere in the world. Individual users can also benchmark against themselves and try to beat their own personal best scores.
The Impact Wrap is light, portable, and very easy to wrap around a heavy bag. It does not require an Internet connection to work. The free companion app comes in iOS and Android versions.
